Three Good and Easy Salad Dressings

Every good cook must have some GREAT recipes to call their own, here are some that are or may be worthy of such a position in YOUR culinary life.

Dressing for a Fruity Salad:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup thick plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp. heavy cream

Directions for a Fruity Salad Dressing:

  1. Combine mayonnaise, yogurt, sugar, and cream in a large bowl, whisk together
  2. Pour the dressing over any combination of fruits. Such as fresh apples, strawberries, bananas, and orange chunks
  3. Stir to combine; serve

Citrus combines well with this dressing, and black pepper adds color and a super power boost

Dressing for HOT Vegetables:

  • 16 oz. sour cream
  • 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp. softened butter
  • 2 tsp. sea salt
  • 4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes

Directions for Hot Vegetable Dressing:

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, stir together until well combined. Let this sit at room temperature at least 10 minutes

After the vegetables are cooked, boiled, grilled, or steamed until just softened, drain and add to a large bowl, drizzle dressing on vegetables while they are hot, stir well

GREAT for picnics, BBQs, and outdoor cooking; use pm any hot cooked vegetable or combination of vegetables.

Suggestions for using Hot Vegetable Dressing:

  • Pour over a pan of cooked baby or Rainbow carrots.
  • Drizzle over split baked potatoes.
  • Serve smeared on roasted asparagus tips, or hot, steamed green beans
  • Add ½ cup of this dressing over boiled potatoes just before whipping

Slaw Dressing:

  • 1 cup full fat yogurt
  • 3 tbsp. raw honey

Directions for Slaw Dressing:

  • Fast and easy! Stir the honey into the yogurt and pour over any crisp cabbage combination or stir into a carrot salad
  • Good used on an Fuji Apple salad, made with diced apples, and Red  Seedless grapes
