Sherried Shrimp

Recipe for Sherried Shrimp

Always a favorite Sherried Shrimp. where we live it is not always possible to get nice fresh shrimp. I find the frozen shrimp are often a better option.

INGREDIENTS for Sherried Shrimp:

 

  • 1 lb. large fresh Shrimp
  • ¼ cup soya sauce
  • ¼ cup sherry
  • ¼ cup Cooking Oil
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh Ginger Root OR 1 tsp. Ground Ginger (see note)

METHOD for Sherried Shrimp:

Peel and clean shrimp.
Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl. Add shrimp and let stand 1 hour, stirring often.
Put shrimp and marinade in heavy skillet (an electric skillet is good). Cook about 4 minutes, turning shrimp are done. Serve very hot. (Makes 16 to 22, depending on size of shrimp.)
Note: Try to use fresh ginger. Many specialty food and fruit stores carry it.
