Sweet and Sour Sauce Marion’s Chinese Cooking Course Recipe #16

Sweet and Sour Sauce
Sweet and Sour Sauce is the fourth recipe in session six of Marion’s Chinese cooking course. It also sadly is the last recipe in her course. Although I was not able to attend in person I have enjoyed all of her recipes and I am sure you will too.

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • ¼ cup Shredded Fresh Ginger
  • ¼ cup Shredded Scallions

Combine all ingredients except cornstarch. Heat over medium temperature till thoroughly blended. Mix cornstarch with a little water and gradually pour into hot mixture while stirring. Stir till thick. Add ginger and scallions and heat through. Pour over warm fish.
