Orange-Grove Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

One of my Granddaughters loves cinnamon rolls. So we have been exploring recipes and think that these Orange-Grove Cinnamon Rolls might be a good substitute for some of the rolls that have icing and more sugar. The Orange-Grove Cinnamon Rolls are baked in a fresh orange sauce that permeates the rolls.

Ingredients for Orange-Grove Cinnamon Rolls

  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Orange Peel, grated
  • ½ cup Orange juice
  • ¼ cup Butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2/3 cup Milk
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Cinnamon

Method for Orange-Grove Cinnamon Rolls

Heat oven to 425º. Mix ½ cup sugar, the orange peel, juice and butter in saucepan. Heat to boiling; boil 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep sauce warm over very low heat.

Mix Bisquick and milk with fork. Beat vigorously 20 strokes until stiff but sticky. Knead 8 to 10 times on lightly floured cloth covered board. Roll into rectangle, 12 x 9 inches.

Mix ¼ cup sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Beginning at the long side, roll up tightly. Pinch edge into roll. Cut into 12 slices.

Spoon about 1 tablespoon hot orange sauce into each of 12 large muffin cups. Place a slice of rolled dough cut side down in each muffin cup. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

Turn pan upside down so sauce runs down over rolls. Serve warm.

Makes 12 rolls.
