Strawberry Cream Treat Recipe

This Strawberry Cream Treat is something my mother made often. She made it for us and she made it for her bridge friends. It is always nice to have recipes that can be made in advance. The Strawberry Cream Treat slices look nice on a plate and they taste delicious.

  • 21/2 Cups Rolled Vanilla Wafers
  • ½ Cup Melted Butter
  • 1 Pkg Strawberry Jello
  • 11/2 Cups Boiling Water
  • 1 Pkg Frozen Strawberries
  • ½ Pint Whipping Cream
  • 2 Cups Small Marshmallows

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Roll vanilla wafer to rough crumbs. Keep enough crumbs to sprinkle on top. Melt butter. Mix remaining crumbs with melted butter. Pat into 8 x 8 pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
Dissolve Jello in 11/2 cups of boiling water. Drop frozen strawberries in to Jello and separate the strawberries. Put in frig and let set.
Beat ½ pint of whipping cream and fold in 2 cups of small marshmallows.
When crust is cooled spoon layer of Jello then layer of cream and marshmallows then layer of Jello then layer of cream and marshmallows.
Sprinkle top with crumbs and keep in frig. Can add some fresh strawberries to plates as you serve it.
This can be made a day ahead.
