Recipe for Spareribs

This recipe for spareribs is yummy. I am not sure but I think that maybe my mother used it.
It has taken me a long time to get my husband to eat spareribs. He is a knife and fork guy and won’t pick up his food in his hands. The only really way to enjoy spareribs is to handle them with your fingers. Finally he has come to like spareribs.

Ingredients for Spareribs

  • 2 lbs Spareribs
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Sauce for Spareribs

  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ Cup Catsup
  • ½ Cup Vinegar
  • ¾ Cup Water
  • 2 Tbsps Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ Tsp Chili Powder

Method for Spareribs

Preheat oven to 400º. Place the spareribs in a roasting pan. Cook for 30 minutes. Drain fat off. Reduce oven to 250º.
Place sliced onion and lemon over ribs.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together and pour over the ribs. Cook uncovered for three hours.
