Fettuccine with Ham is another great recipe to use up left over ham. As we always have ham for Christmas Eve and Easter, we are always trying to find new and interesting ways to use up the left over ham. When we have ham peas are a must but they are optional. If you like great if not don’t include. another vegetable that is nice with this Fettuccine with Ham is asparagus.

Serve with an orange and romaine salad and finish the meal fresh fruit or sherbet and crisp cookies.

INGREDIENTS for Fettuccine with Ham

  • 1/3 lb Fettuccine or Egg Noodles 175 g
  • ¼ cup Butter 50 ML
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced 3
  • ½ cup finely chopped Green Onions 125 ML
  • 1-1/2 cups diced Cooked Ham 375 ML
  • ½ cup Milk 125 ML
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten 1
  • ¾ cup grated Cheddar Cheese (about 3 oz/90 g) 175 ML
  • Dash Worcestershire Sauce
  • Dash Salt and freshly ground Pepper

METHOD for Fettuccine with Ham

In large pot of boiling salted water, cook noodles until al dente (tender but firm) or according to package directions. Drain and return pasta to pot.

In skillet, melt butter over medium heat; cook garlic and onions for 2 to 3 minutes or until tender; stir in ham. Add to hot noodles along with milk, egg and cheese; toss well. Add Worcestershire, and salt and pepper to taste; toss again. Serve immediately. Makes 3 or 4 servings.
