Can Snorepin Stop My Snoring?

Snorepin â„¢ The Smarter Solution Against Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Embarrassed by Snoring

Few things embarrass me as much as my snoring. Although I rarely hear myself, people who’ve had the misfortune to share rooms with me report that I’m extremely loud, and that I stop snoring only when I stop breathing and gasp for air. My efforts to be cured, to reform myself, and to get help have so far had little result, but I’m now looking again for something to stop my snoring, and now I’ve found Snorepin
I heard about this device from a friend who bought one for her boyfriend with decent results. She got hers at a cheap store: I’m more interested in the patented Snorepin design, which differs significantly from the imitations.

Snorepin’s Design

The Snorepin is officially a “nasal dilator,” which means it makes your nostrils open widely, thus allowing in more air. Because the Snorepin fits into the nose, it reduces the feeling of dry mouth that can be caused by other anti-snoring devices, such as mouth guards. The plastic device is basically two nostril inserts – not sexy, but it’s worth giving up vanity for a good night’s sleep for me and my partner.

It’s designed like a tiny colander, so the air comes through the gaps, but the design allows the user’s nose-hair to do its job of filtering out airborne particles, such as dust). The material is Latex-free (good news for people with allergies) and dishwasher-safe for the very fastidious (I’d think a quick rinse in hot water would work fine, but I always follow manufacturer’s directions).

Snoring Like a Wild Hog

There are hundreds of reviews on Amazon from people who have tried this Snorepin. While quite a few complain that the plastic is too hard and is uncomfortable, some people have remedied that situation by snipping the plastic link between the two pieces, creating in effect two separate Snorepins. Others have said that the Snorepin falls out during sleep, but it is effective while it’s in place.

My favorite review for this product made me laugh out loud for its reference to snoring “like a wild hog.” Here it is:

5.0 out of 5 stars: Amazing – completely stops my snoring!, October 29, 2010

I snore like a wild hog which is completely embarrassing for my dainty little nose. The main problem is that my nostrils are simply too compressed — particularly one side due to a bad deviated septum that couldn’t be completely repaired. There isn’t any way that a Breathe Right strip will pull the sides up my nose open enough for me to breathe. This Snorepin device is PERFECT! It didn’t take long to get used to, and I don’t even realize I’m wearing it anymore once I put it in. It completely opens up my nostrils so I’m breathing freely which prevents me from snoring at all. My husband is amazed!
I admit that I wait to slip them into my nose when I turn out the light because I end up with a slight resemblance to Miss Piggy. But I suppose that’s the point of the gadget — to open up those darned nostrils! Unfortunately, I frequently lose them in the bed just before dawn. If I start snoring at the point, my bunk mate is so sound asleep that he doesn’t notice. But I’ll gladly put up with search for it in the blankets each morning because there’s an unintended benefit to this little flaw. I don’t wake up in the morning light looking like Miss Piggy!
4.0 out of 5 stars It’s not perfect but it’s close, June 22, 2013

This is a very good solution for snoring. It doesn’t stop it 100% but I would say it does cut it down 90%. What little snoring that does still occur is much lighter than previously. It has not been uncomfortable for me as some have posted. I use it every night now and don’t know it’s there. One downside, it does fall out during the night sometime.

It does what it says. I have narrow nasal passages, and these opened them. I couldn’t believe the difference in air flow. I must admit, when I woke up in the morning I couldn’t wait to take them out, but they really did help my breathing during the night.

Improved sleep; less snoring

Quite a few reviewers have complained about the Snorepin falling out, and some have said that it’s not comfy. I have round, short nostrils to begin with, so I’m not over-optimistic about loving this device. But hey, if it can cut down my snoring even 50%, that’s a big win for my partner – and so it’s a win for me. I’m ordering the Snorepin with free shipping from

Let’s hope at least I save myself a little embarrassment.
